Creating and editing mind maps
Mind maps are a good fit for expressing topics, levels, and knowledge relationships. NuromBoard lets you start from a blank structure, or continue from a first draft generated from your material or by AI.
Basic principles for editing a mind map
Settle the central topic first, then create a small number of first-level branches. Each node should express one clear concept, with details pushed to the next level or into linked material.
Steps
- 1Create the central topic
Create a new mind map and enter the topic. Be clear about the question this map should answer.
- 2Add and adjust nodes
Add branches level by level, drag nodes to adjust position and level, and split nodes that become too long.
- 3Add relationships and material
Use connectors, text, images, or attachments to capture the relationships between nodes and where they came from.
- 4Unify the structure and save
When you are done, check the reading order, levels, and empty areas, then save to a project.
FAQ
What content suits a mind map?
Course knowledge, paper structures, project plans, meeting conclusions, user research, and review outlines all work well as mind maps.
What should I do when a map has too many nodes?
Group by topic first, split into several linked maps, or move details into cards, notes, and attachments instead of loading everything into one map.
