Comments, replies, and collaboration
Comments are the right tool for discussing a specific spot on the canvas. Every comment has its own anchor and thread, which makes them ideal for design feedback, task confirmation, and plan reviews.
What a comment thread can do
You can add a comment anywhere on the canvas, reply to an existing thread, edit or delete your own content, and @mention members of the same team. Comments also support image uploads to add context.
Steps
- 1Add a comment anchor
Choose the comment tool, click a spot on the canvas, type your message, and send. The comment stays pinned to that position.
- 2Reply or @mention a member
Open the comment thread and reply in the input box; type @ to select a team member to notify.
- 3Add an image
Click the image button to upload a screenshot or reference image. It is saved with the comment and can be previewed.
- 4Manage read status
Mark a comment read or unread from its more menu. The status is saved per user and persists after a refresh.
- 5Collaborate
When you are signed in with edit permission you can create and manage comments; read-only shares or anonymous visitors cannot modify them.
FAQ
Can visitors with a share link post comments?
Only visitors who are signed in with edit permission can work with comments. Anonymous or read-only visitors can view them but cannot add, reply to, or change comments.
Is the read/unread status of a comment shared?
Read status is saved per user. One person marking a comment as read does not change the status for other collaborators.
